The Elevator Story
The other day I got the s#%t scared out of me while I had my kids out in the world. I had to load the kids up in the van and take them to where my wife was teaching. She’s an adjunct professor at a local college and teaches a night class over the summer. She called to say that she forgot graded papers and asked if I’d deliver them to the classroom. I did.
Anyway, the classroom isn’t on the first floor of the building so coming back down we used the elevator. My 4yr old triplets loaded on and proceeded to have a melt down over whose turn it was to push the buttons. I quieted them down and turned to discover that my 2yr old had walked off the elevator to explore and was waving happily as the doors were closing.
I screamed “MATTHEW!” and just pryed my hands and arms between the doors at the absolute last second.
THIS WAS NOT IN THE HOW TO PARENT MANUAL!
I freak over stuff like this. The thought of having my babbling 2yr old on another floor while I desperately jammed my finger into elevator buttons kept me up that night. My wife thinks I over reacted but, being a technology guy, I went to the internet and looked for hacks on how to override elevator controls. I found plenty. The best link is listed below.

Oh, and like most hacker sites, the language isn’t very nice so I warned you ahead of time.
There are also elevator hacks listed on the page “Elevator Hacks” on this site.
