Computer Forensics Class

Computer Forensics Class

I haven’t posted for the past couple of days because I’m finishing up a class on Computer Forensics. As usual I left a lot of course work for the last minute. Gee I wonder why considering all the free time I have. Anyway, it’s almost over and I’ll be that much closer to finally getting my degree and out of school.

It’s a very interesting topic and it does scratch that Computer Geek itch I always have. It also really brings home the fact that nothing, and I mean nothing is 100% wiped off of your computer unless you do one thing. What is that one thing? I’m not telling.

And if you think you know, it isn’t what most people think, like formatting your hard drive. Also, don’t think you’re secure surfing the net either. I know guys that try to do it anonymously with Proxy Sites and other methods. Um um, no way, they can getcha.

This is a field, that if I have to have a job that pays bills, and I do, I want to be in. Why? Because it is growing like gangbusters and human nature never changes.

The Mommy Daddy’s number one rule on human nature is:

  • No matter how stupid you are, in some respect, in some way, you still think you’re smarter than everyone else.

That’s the Achilles Heal of all the people on this planet. Even if you are a Super Genius like Wiley Coyote, the very fact that you think you are is your downfall.

Well, that’s all for today and I’ll be back tomorrow.

  1. Hey, MD, I’m fascinated by forensics and have spent over 20 years at software companies. Where is this course you’re taking, if you don’t mind saying? Kind of have an itch to study computer forensics.

  2. Sounds like a fascinating course. I think I’d love to do something like that for a living, too.

  3. How does one find the time to get a degree and be The Mommy Daddy?

    Will wonders never cease?

Here I am with only one child and I keep telling myself I’ll never be able to finish school, and you’re doing it with multiples.

    You inspire me. Thank you.

  4. How does one do it? You have a wife that nags you to finish your degree the entire time you’re married. That’s how.

  5. Sounds like interesting stuff. Well done for managing to do the degree while looking after your children – hard work I’m guessing.
