Lake Arrowhead

Lake Arrowhead

Yikes, it’s been a week since my last post! What a week it was, sick kids, school, and needy clients. Today I had a breather. It was 104 degrees in Riverside so I loaded the kids in the van and headed for the mountains. Yes it was a long drive but I wasn’t about to spend my first day of downtime cooped up with kids inside so that we wouldn’t bake our brains in the heat outside. It was worth it.

After about an hour in the car we ended up in Lake Arrowhead. It’s a beautiful mountain lake with a small mountain community. Kind of touristy but it was a Tuesday so nobody was there. We had the place all to ourselves. The temperature was about 75 degrees, there was a moderate wind blowing off of the lake that created white caps, the air was sweet and clean, the pine trees were whispering, you could smell fall in the air, man, I was in heaven.

My kids and I spent most of the day in the park up there and then walked through the town. We ate a picnic lunch I packed, fed ducks, birds, and squirrels. It was the type of day that helped you sort out stuff in your head and set your priorities straight. If you want to see Arrowhead click here.
