Reality
I was driving the kids to preschool the other day. The kids were all buckled up in their car seats, looking out the windows, when Joseph saw a police car zoom past in an incredible hurry.
“Wow! He must be going to get some bad guys”, he said.
I said, “Yeah, he probably is. That’s what policemen do Joseph.”
“Cool!”
As we drove a little further down the road we had to stop at a red light. There, sitting right next to us, waiting for the light to change, was the same police car.
“Hey!,” Joseph yelled out. “He isn’t going after bad guys! He’s just driving fast!”
My son was totally disgusted and disappointed. Reality is so tough to swallow at such a young age.

Or maybe they just got away?
I doubt it. Not Riverside cops.
That kind of reality is tough to swallow at any age.
