Sick Kiddies
I don’t want to relive this day. Everyone in the family, except me, has a cold. My wife still went to work and I was home with the four sick children. They stayed home from school, I made little nests for all of them to curl up in and they watched DVDs all day. They had no energy to do anything else. I ran back and forth catering to all the whiney requests and made sure they all stayed hydrated.
It’s roughest on the littlest one because he can’t articulate what’s wrong as well as the older kids. He just knows he’s miserable and wants to be snuggled and reassured that everything will be OK.
For two to four year olds, chicken noodle soup, crackers and Pedialyte is the prescription. Thomas the Tank Engine, Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam, plus a Disney movie or two, make it manageable. For the wife it’s a dose of Nyquil and a roll of toilet paper by the bed to get her through the night. I’ll probably sleep in my office so she can sleep better and I won’t get sick.
Who am I kidding. I’m next.

Hope all the kiddos and the wife feels better!! We were all sick last week 0_0, but the husband managed to come out completely unscathed. There is hope!
the cold passed me. strangely because i am usually the first. also our 4-month-old caught cold from Daddy! so i had 2 sick kids at home…
I completely sympathize! Although I only have 1 toddler and not 4 little ones, it’s still so very tough. I work from home and there’s nothing harder than trying to work in between wiping noses. So I miss a deadline, right!
