Youth Is Wasted On The Young

Youth Is Wasted On The Young

That old saying that youth is wasted on the young is so true. If I’d known then what I know now. Which lead to a conversation with the wife over the weekend. If I could go back in time with the knowledge I have now, what would I do?

I said I wouldn’t, no matter how tempting it sounds. Because then I never would’ve ended up with her or the kids I have now. No matter how careful I was, there are just too many random variables to deal with. But I really do like the “Groundhog Day” (Bill Murray movie) scenario much better.

Being able to relive the same day over and over again just has too many cool possibilities. I could have what I already have, and build on it. I could do things, regret them and have a do over for the day. I could have an eternity to learn any subject I wanted and the whole world would never know I was doing it!

I would know horse race results, LOTTO numbers, Stock picks, you name it. I could work out and suddenly, to the rest of the world, all of a sudden be buff! I could learn new computer languages. I could have all the time I wanted to draw and paint or play musical instruments.

She said that I’d obviously thought about this before and that I already seem to have too much time on my hands.

  1. She shouldn’t have asked then! I think it sounds like a good plan to me.

  2. Sorry, I’m a bit tired, terrible english in that last comment. I don’t think it sounds like a good plan, it does sound like a good plan

  3. That made me smile. I fantasise about winning the lottery. My time, of course, would be better spent buying a lottery ticket!!
